LEADING CHANGE: “GOING GREEN” WITH iPADS
Jill L. Lindsey

Abstract
This paper describes a vision-based change effort enacted through an environmentally responsible professional development initiative using iPads. The focus of the initiative was to collectively learn iPad touch technology skills and reduce paper usage in department meetings. The initiative was part of a vision to develop a collaborative department culture with transparency, autonomy, and interdependence sustained through communication and capacity building. Data collection revealed that collective learning contributed to adoption of touch technology, with 95% of department members using iPads to conduct department business after three months. The initiative influenced the behavior of department members and shaped the identity of the department.
